Preform - Green body

The term “green body” describes certain finished parts, mostly right at the beginning of the manufacturing process. In the manufacture of powder metallurgy components, for example, powder is shaped by pressing it in a corresponding tool. The so-called “green body” this produces, which is sufficiently dimensionally stable particularly for handling, only gets its final strength through the subsequent sintering process.
