Clutch

A clutch is a mechanical component that is used to connect two shafts. In principle, a distinction is made between rigid, elastic, moveable and separable clutches. They are used for the transmission of energy and to fulfil other tasks, depending on their type. For example, the separable, frictional clutch installed in a motor vehicle with manual transmission is used to interrupt the flow of power between the engine and the gearbox.
