Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC)

A direct methanol fuel cell is a fuel cell in which either liquid or gaseous methanol is used as fuel. The methanol oxidizes at the anode instead of being reformed to produce hydrogen. The electrolyte used is in most cases a PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane).
