Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC)
Solid oxide fuel cells use electrolyte in solid form. Non-porous metal oxide (ZrO2) treated with Y2O3 to carry oxygen from the cathode. All CO in the reforming gas is oxidized to CO2 at the anode. This process takes place at 800-1000°C.
