Drum brake

In the drum brake, a contour-matched friction lining is pressed against the radial inner surface of the drum. The closed design makes it more difficult to dissipate the thermal energy. The advantage lies in the protection against environmental influences, which can be particularly advantageous for off-road applications.

IAG systems are also used for the production of drum brake pads (for auxiliary brakes as parking brakes, for commercial vehicles, now also used for rear axles in e-mobility).
