Special-purpose machinery vs. mechanical engineering: what's the difference?
Special-purpose machinery is the choice in machine construction. According to WIKIPEDIA, special mechanical engineering is the branch of mechanical engineering that produces special devices, apparatus and special machines. In contrast to series machines, these are specially designed according to customer requirements and individually manufactured in workshops. The spectrum ranges from the completely newly developed machine to more or less extensive customer-specific adaptations to series-produced machines or machine components. Special machines are therefore one-off or small series production. The demarcation to 'normal' mechanical engineering is fluid.
What does special machine construction mean for IAG?
